Massive Push for Quality Education: School and Mass Education Department Highlights New Schemes, Student Welfare Measures, and Technology Integration in Post-Budget Press Conference

Bhubaneswar, Mar, 23:After the presentation of the School and Mass Education Department’s budget for the financial year 2026–27 in the Odisha Legislative Assembly, detailed information was shared during a press conference.
In this budget, a total expenditure of Rs31,997 crore 23 lakh 20 thousand has been allocated. Out of this, Rs15,849 crore 29 lakh 81 thousand has been earmarked for programme expenditure, while Rs16,147 crore 93 lakh 39 thousand has been allocated for administrative expenditure.
Education plays a vital role in shaping individuals as well as strengthening the foundation of society. The present government has expanded the scope of education through continuous investment in school infrastructure, teacher recruitment and their capacity building, and targeted programmes for girls, Children With Special Needs (CWSN), and tribal students.
Students of our state will move forward equipped with 21st-century skills and will be capable of setting examples across various fields of society. In this context, a budget of Rs31,997 crore 23 lakh 20 thousand has been allocated for the development of primary, secondary, and higher secondary students of Odisha.
Under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister and the Hon’ble Chief Minister, efforts towards the development, prosperity, and advancement of education are continuing steadily.
