Call Grows for Flexible Mutual Transfer Policy Allowing Multiple Chances for Secondary School Teachers Across the State

Bhubaneswar, Mar, 28: Secondary school headmasters and teachers have questioned why they are not allowed multiple opportunities for mutual transfers during their service period. Despite being state cadre employees, they are permitted to avail mutual inter-district transfer only once.
Teachers have alleged that while employees of other government departments are allowed multiple inter-district mutual transfers during their careers, the School and Mass Education Department is adopting a discriminatory attitude towards TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) employees.
They stated that this restriction has pushed many teachers into mental stress. In cases of mutual transfer, no vacancy or surplus post is created at the school or district level, yet the restriction continues.
The Odisha Government High School NPS Teachers’ Association has urged the Chief Minister, the School and Mass Education Minister, the Departmental Secretary, and the Director of Secondary Education to grant permission for mutual transfers in the upcoming academic year.
In a press statement, Association President Pradipta Kumar Pradhan, Convener Biswajit Biswal, Treasurer Panchanan Jena, Vice Presidents Girija Kundu and Santosh Sahu warned that if their demand is not considered and immediate steps are not taken, the association will launch an agitation.
