Tentulikhunti, March 31: In Patriput village under Tentulikhunti block of Nabarangpur district, members of the Patriput Women’s Federation actively participated in an anti-liquor अभियान. On Saturday morning at around 7 AM, a large number of women gathered to carry out a campaign against liquor.
During the अभियान, they seized illegally sold country-made and foreign liquor from different parts of the area. However, as the मुख्य accused managed to escape, the women destroyed the seized liquor in front of Tentulikhunti police and local media representatives.
It is noteworthy that the women not only seized but also destroyed a large quantity of liquor. They have been consistently demanding immediate closure of liquor shops, strict action against illegal liquor trade, and formation of special committees involving village women, police, and the excise department in every panchayat to ensure a liquor-free society.
The collective action of the women in seizing such a large quantity of liquor is seen as a significant step towards building a liquor-free village. It is also being viewed as a strong warning to the police and excise department to take stricter action against illegal liquor activities.
