Padmagiri Hosts Awareness and Registration Drive for Construction Workers

Malkangiri, April 13:  A construction workers’ registration, renewal, and awareness camp was successfully conducted at Padmagiri Gram Panchayat under Malkangiri block in Malkangiri. The program was jointly organized by the state government’s Odisha Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board and the district administration.
The camp was conducted under the direct guidance of District Collector Prathamesh Arvind Rajshirkhe and managed by Assistant Labour Officer Tanmaya Mandal.
A total of 340 construction workers participated in the camp. Out of them, 161 workers were newly registered online for labour cards, while more than 81 old cards were renewed and reactivated.
Special awareness was created, particularly in this tribal-dominated area, about various government schemes aimed at ensuring the economic and social security of construction workers, migrant labourers, and unorganized workers. Detailed information was provided on how workers can avail benefits from these schemes.
The program was supported by the local Sarpanch, Panchayat Executive Officer, and labour office staff including Chinmaya Rautray, Bijaya Nanda Panda, and Sonali Ray. Staff from Mo Seva Kendras also assisted workers with online registration.
This public welfare initiative by the administration has been widely appreciated in the local area.
