Unique Aghori Performances and Mahakali Dance Highlight the Procession

Nabarangpur, April 13:  On the occasion of Pana Sankranti and Hanuman Jayanti, a grand procession is being organized this year in Nabarangpur by the Nabaraj Hindu Ekta Bahini, continuing its annual tradition.
The organizers presented the outline and detailed information about the procession during a press conference. According to Gourishankar Sahu, convenor of the Hindu Ekta Bahini and the procession committee, the procession will begin at 3:00 PM on Tuesday from Chauriyaguda and proceed up to the Police Ground.
More than 30,000 people are expected to participate in the procession. As per the advice of the police administration, the display of traditional weapons has been prohibited. Over 20 kirtan groups along with various traditional folk dance troupes will take part in the event.
The main attractions of this year’s procession include performances by Aghori Baba and Mahakali dancers from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, along with tableau performances, and the Dhol-Tasha folk dance from Maharashtra.
Additionally, decorative arches and temple-shaped gateways have been constructed at various places across the town to enhance the festive atmosphere.
The organizers have requested the District Collector to ensure that all liquor shops remain closed on the day of the event.
Prior to the procession, on Sunday, a Sanatani mass run will be organized by school students, starting from the Shri Ram Temple and ending at the RCD High School ground. Participants in the run will be felicitated.
The Hindu Ekta Bahini has appealed to the local public to participate in large numbers in the grand procession. Among others, Ananta Panda and Ninababu Tripathy were present at the press conference.
