State Gears Up for Panchayat Elections 2027 with Focus on Inclusive Development and Strong Village-Level Leadership

Bhubaneswar, April 14:  Elections will be held for Sarpanch, Samiti Members, and Ward Members.
Elections for Zilla Parishad Members will also be conducted.
The Panchayati Raj Department has sent a letter to all District Collectors regarding seat reservation.
For the post of Zilla Parishad President,
Draft notification will be issued on the 13th,
Final notification will be issued on the 29th.
Objections can be submitted by the 17th,
Hearings on objections will be completed by the 27th.
The final reservation list will be prepared by the 30th.
The final report will be submitted to the Election Commission within this month.
As per rules, total reservation will remain within 50%.
27% reservation will be provided for backward classes.
50% reservation will be provided for women.
