State Election Commissioner Confirms Early Start of SIR Process for Voter List Update

Bhubaneswar, April 21:  SIR to Begin Soon: State Election Commissioner
Panchayat elections will be conducted based on the 2026 voter list, informed State Election Commissioner Madhusudan Padhi.
He stated that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) will begin within a few days, and a new voter list will be prepared after its completion.
He also clarified that both reservation (seat allocation) and delimitation are the responsibilities of the state government. Since the reservation process has already started, there will be no further delimitation.
Elections will be held once the government completes the reservation process and provides the finalized details.
