Cultural Enthusiasm Marks Folk Art Day Celebrations in Daspalla

Daspalla, April 21: Folk Art Day was celebrated today at the Daspalla Block premises.
The program was held under the chairpersonship of Block Chairperson Sunanda Sahu. MLA Ramesh Chandra Behera attended as the chief guest, while BDO Sarat Chandra Mallik, APO Madhusmita Swain, the ABDO, and other officials were present as distinguished guests.
During the meeting, speakers expressed their views on Daspalla receiving recognition as a “Folk Art Village.” They highlighted that many talented artists in the region are still unrecognized, and even those identified have not yet received artist allowances.
Guests emphasized the need for greater support and proper recognition for artists.
On the occasion, artists including Guru Kahnu Charan Sahu and team, Kuresh Chandra Sahu and team, along with others, presented traditional dance and music performances.
The कार्यक्रम was conducted by musician Sarat Sahu, with assistance from Nirmal Das, a member of the Leela Prachar Samiti.
