Khunti, April 22: A new Surabhi cowshed (Goshala) was inaugurated at Kenduguda under Tentulikhunti block. The event was attended by several dignitaries.
The chief guest of the program was MLA Gaurishankar Majhi. Among the distinguished guests were District Collector Dr. Maheshwar Swain, the Sub-Collector, Project Administrator, Chief District Veterinary Officer Dilip Kumar, Tentulikhunti Block Development Officer Manoj Kumar Panigrahi, Block Chairman Niladri Nayak, Vice-Chairman Rajendra Bisoyi, along with other local representatives.
Eminent personalities including senior writer Ballav Raut, senior journalist Banke Bihari Bisoyi, Gopal Krishna Pattnaik, social workers Sunil Behera and Subas Jain, and religious figure Saubhagya Baba from the Mahima Dharma tradition were also present at the event.
During the program, the MLA stated that government financial assistance for the cowshed was provided in two phases—₹5 lakh in the first phase and Rs32 lakh in the second phase.
It was also highlighted that three cowsheds have already been established in Nabarangpur district, and efforts will be made to open more such facilities in other blocks in the future.
