Malkangiri, April 23: In view of the severe heatwave conditions, the district administration of Malkangiri has announced the closure of schools. District Collector Prathmesh Arvind Rajshirkhe has directed that all government, government-aided, and private schools in the district will remain closed for students from April 22 to April 25.
This directive applies to all classes, from kindergarten to Class 12, to safeguard students’ health from extreme heat and humidity. However, supplementary examinations for Classes 5 and 8 will continue as per the schedule set by OSEPA. Similarly, examinations conducted by Board of Secondary Education Odisha, Council of Higher Secondary Education Odisha, Central Board of Secondary Education, and Indian Certificate of Secondary Education will be held as per their pre-announced schedules.
During examinations, school authorities have been instructed to ensure adequate arrangements such as drinking water, ORS, and first aid facilities for students.
Although schools will remain closed for students, enrolment, administrative work, and essential duties like census activities will continue. Teachers and non-teaching staff are required to attend school from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
