Bhubaneswar:April. 24: Former Bargarh MLA Sadhu Nepak rejoined the Indian National Congress on Saturday, along with hundreds of his supporters. He formally joined the party at Congress Bhavan in the presence of senior leaders, including PCC President Bhakta Charan Das and Odisha co-incharge Jetta Kusum Kumar.
The joining ceremony was conducted by Media Cell Chairman Aravind Das, who briefed the gathering about Nepak’s political background and highlighted the contribution of Bargarh region to the Congress party.
Addressing the gathering, PCC President Bhakta Charan Das said that during the tenure of former Chief Minister Hemananda Biswal, he and Sadhu Nepak had worked together on several organizational activities. He described Nepak as a prominent leader who has consistently fought for the rights of marginalized people, especially farmers.
Das further stated that Nepak’s return to Congress signals a positive future for the party and is expected to strengthen its base in western Odisha, particularly in Bargarh.
Speaking on the occasion, Sadhu Nepak said that he shares a long-standing relationship with Bhakta Charan Das and admires his leadership and ideology. Inspired by his leadership, Nepak decided to return to Congress and contribute to strengthening the organization.
Several senior Congress leaders, including former MLA Suresh Routray, PCC Vice President Santosh Singh Saluja, national spokesperson Hamid Hussain, Dr. Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mahapatra, Treasurer Siddharth Swarup Das, and leader Sunita Biswal, were present at the event.
