Meteorological Developments Raise Concern as Low Pressure Area Predicted Around May 12 with Possible Cyclonic Formation After the 15th

Bhubaneswar, May 11:  A cyclonic circulation has formed over the southern Andaman Sea and adjoining areas. It extends up to about 1.5 km above sea level. According to the Meteorological Department, this system is expected to further intensify and turn into a low-pressure area around the 12th to 13th of May. Subsequently, it may strengthen into a depression, and the possibility of it developing into a cyclone is likely to become clearer after the 15th.
Thunderstorms and rain in 20 districts
Meanwhile, a trough line is currently active over the state, which is expected to continue until the 11th. Due to its influence, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and rain are likely in 20 districts over the next 24 hours. Wind speeds may reach 30 to 50 kmph. The Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow Warning in this regard.
