Bhubaneswar, May 11: A New Initiative for Cooperative Infrastructure Development and Farmers’ Prosperity
In a significant step towards strengthening the cooperative system and accelerating the rural economy of Odisha, foundation stones have been laid in Mahanga Block for the construction of office buildings and 50-metric-ton capacity godowns in five Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS), with an estimated expenditure of ₹2 crore. The foundation stone for the new market complex of Kendupatana RMC was also laid on the occasion.
The projects were inaugurated by Pradeep Bal Samanta, Hon’ble Minister for Cooperation, Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts, along with Krushna Chandra Patra, Hon’ble Minister for Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, and the Hon’ble MLA of Mahanga.
The initiative is aimed at improving storage facilities, enhancing cooperative infrastructure, and providing better marketing support to farmers. The new infrastructure is expected to strengthen agricultural supply chains and benefit farming communities in the region.
On this occasion, the Additional District Magistrate of Cuttack, DRCS Cuttack, other district-level officials, and a large number of farmers were present.
