Bhubaneswar, May 16 (BNP): The Odisha government has temporarily suspended Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s “Jan Abhiyog Sunani” public grievance hearing programme scheduled for May 18 and May 25 due to the prevailing heatwave conditions across the state.
The General Administration and Public Grievance Department, in an official statement issued on Friday, said the decision was taken considering the intense summer heat and public safety concerns. The programme, which is generally held every Monday, will remain closed on both dates.
Officials stated that the move aims to prevent inconvenience to citizens and government staff amid rising temperatures and severe heatwave conditions being experienced in several parts of Odisha.
The department further informed that the next date for the Chief Minister’s grievance hearing programme will be announced later through newspapers and other mass communication platforms.
“Jan Abhiyog Sunani” is one of the state government’s major public outreach initiatives, allowing citizens to directly submit grievances and complaints before the administration for quick resolution. The programme regularly witnesses participation from people arriving from different districts of the state.
