Focus on Better Education and School Infrastructure as Kunal Motiram Chavan Conducts District-Level Review

Jharsuguda:May 22: Following a joint public grievance hearing camp organized in Laikera block, Jharsuguda District Collector Kunal Motiram Chavan visited various schools in the district to assess improvements in the education system, teaching standards, and infrastructure development works. As part of the visit, he made a surprise inspection of the Panchayat High School at Babuchipidihi.

During the visit, the District Collector reviewed the overall academic environment of the school and monitored different educational activities. He also interacted freely with students, teachers, and staff members. On this occasion, District Education Officer Radhakanta Gadtia, Laikera BDO George Dungdung, and Block Education Officer Himanshu Bag were present.

The District Collector suggested several measures to further improve school management and make the teaching-learning process more effective and attractive. He also conducted a detailed review on how students could achieve better and more encouraging results in the matriculation examination. Discussions were held with the District Education Officer regarding ways to help students appear for examinations without fear and perform better in the upcoming matric exams.

He assured that the administration would extend all possible support to provide students with a better and more holistic educational environment.

On the other hand, during his visit to L.P.S.D High School at Aintapalli, the District Collector expressed dissatisfaction. Compared to other schools, he observed that there had been no significant improvement in student attendance and retention rates. Expressing serious concern over the matter, he directed officials to take immediate corrective measures.

The District Collector further instructed the District Education Officer to ensure that, during the upcoming academic year, schools in dilapidated or damaged conditions across the district receive additional classrooms, bicycle stands, ICT laboratories, and e-library facilities.

As part of the inspection tour, the District Collector also visited Hem Sagar High School, which had achieved the highest grade in the district in the current matriculation examination. Appreciating the school’s excellent academic performance, he advised education officials to give priority to the institution and provide all necessary government assistance and infrastructural support to maintain its high standards in the future.
