Major Outreach Initiative for Tribal Communities Begins as Jan Jatiya Garima Utsav–2026 is Flagged Off by Koraput District Administration With Emphasis on Grassroots Participation

Bhubaneswar,May 27:  Under the joint initiative of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, and the Scheduled Tribe & Scheduled Caste Development Department, Government of Odisha, the “Jan Jatiya Garima Utsav–2026” campaign, themed “Jan Bhagidari – Sabutharu Dur, Sarba Prathame” (People’s Participation – Reaching the Farthest First), was officially inaugurated today by the District Collector of Koraput.

The campaign is being organized under the Dharati Aaba – Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan and will continue until 25 May 2026. The initiative aims to ensure inclusive development, welfare, and empowerment of tribal communities residing in remote and underserved areas.

Various awareness programs, outreach activities, welfare service camps, and community engagement initiatives will be conducted during the campaign period. The program reflects the commitment of both the Central and State Governments towards preserving tribal heritage, promoting social dignity, and accelerating holistic development in tribal regions.

Officials, community representatives, and local residents participated enthusiastically in the inaugural ceremony, marking the beginning of a significant grassroots development initiative in Koraput district.
