Jharsuguda:May 29: In a grand public programme held today for various regions under the Jharsuguda Panchayat Samiti, development projects worth more than ₹4 crore were inaugurated and foundation stones were laid.
At Loisinh Bhoimunda, Odisha’s Revenue and Disaster Management Minister, Suresh Pujari, inaugurated 34 projects worth ₹2.34 crore and laid foundation stones for 22 projects worth ₹2.56 crore under the Panchayat Samiti.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, the Minister stated that the government remains fully committed to public welfare and inclusive development. He informed that several development initiatives are being undertaken in the district through mineral fund allocations.
The Minister further announced that sports infrastructure in the region would be developed by next January and major improvements would be made in road connectivity to provide better transportation facilities to the public.
Emphasizing educational transformation in the district, he said that all high schools located in every Gram Panchayat would gradually be upgraded into +2 colleges. In the first phase, 38 Panchayat high schools, including Rajpur High School, are being upgraded to the higher secondary (+2) level.
To accelerate rural development, the Minister declared that all written development proposals submitted by Sarpanches would be implemented within the current year itself.
He reiterated that the government’s primary objective is to ensure holistic development across Odisha through the vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.”
In a major announcement regarding social security and welfare for the poor, the Minister said that by the end of this year, every landless poor family in the district would be provided with 4 decimals of land by the government for constructing their own houses.
He also stressed that education, healthcare, and welfare schemes for the poor would be effectively implemented at the grassroots level, aiming to make Brajrajnagar one of the most developed and model regions in Odisha in the coming years.
The entire programme was efficiently coordinated by Jharsuguda Block Development Officer Anil Kumar Acharya.
Distinguished guests present on the occasion included District Collector Kunal Motiram Chahnan, Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Biswaranjan Nayak, Jharsuguda Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Chitreni Patel, Zilla Parishad Zone Member Jharana Sagar, along with all Sarpanches, public representatives, and departmental officials under the block.
