Bhubaneswar, June 6: A major step by the Mohan Government towards social justice. For the first time, the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) have been included in the reservation system with 11.25% reservation.
From the 2026–27 academic year, this brings great news for our backward-class brothers and sisters in engineering, medical, and technical education. The reservation percentages have been increased as follows:
🅰️ ST Reservation: 12% → 22.5%
🅰️ SC Reservation: 8% → 16.25%
🅰️ SEBC Reservation: Introduced for the first time at 11.25%

This historic move will help thousands of meritorious students fulfill their dreams of becoming doctors and engineers. Students from the most marginalized sections of society will now also get the opportunity to pursue higher education and move forward in life.
