Koraput, June 9: On the occasion of World Environment Day, a felicitation programme was organized today at Pine Resort, Koraput. In this programme, individuals and organisations from different blocks of the district who had actively participated in tree plantation drives in recent days were honoured with the titles “Prakruti Mitra” (Friend of Nature) and “Prakruti Bandhu” (Companion of Nature).
In this context, from the Kotpad Maa Mauli Youth Association, Shri Kunj Bihari Bedia Pattnaik was honoured with the title of “Prakruti Mitra” and Shri Saroj Kumar Pattnaik was honoured with the title of “Prakruti Bandhu”. They were presented with certificates of appreciation along with financial assistance.
The programme was attended by District Collector Shri Manoj Satyaban Mahajan, RCCF Koraput, ACF Jeypore Shri Amit Prakash Nayak, Divisional Forest Officer, Jeypore Shri Prashant Patel, the Divisional Forest Officer of Koraput, BSF Command officials, and other distinguished personalities of Koraput district. Several forest officials from Kotpad, including Forest Range Officer Shri Manas Ranjan Nayak, also participated in the event along with representatives from various organisations across the district.
On this occasion, the District Collector also formally unveiled the poster of the Kotpad Environment Committee.
