K. Nuagaon, June 9: A night cricket tournament organized by the K. Nuagaon Cricket Club was successfully held over three days at the K. Nuagaon High School playground in Kandhamal district.
A total of 16 selected teams from the region participated in the tournament. The final match was played between the K. Nuagaon Police team and the Falcon Six team. After winning the toss, the K. Nuagaon Police team chose to bat first. In the allotted 6 overs, they scored 69 runs after losing all wickets.
In reply, the Falcon Six team was bowled out for 51 runs, and the K. Nuagaon Police team emerged victorious by 18 runs.
The match was officiated by Rakesh Kumar Jena and Bhakti Charan Bebarsa.
At the closing ceremony, K. Nuagaon BDO Ms. Shubhranjali Pradhan attended as the chief guest. Community Health Centre officer Pratyush Kumar Panigrahi and Police Station officer Ashutosh also attended as guests of honour.
The chief guests awarded the champion K. Nuagaon Police team with a trophy and cash prize of ₹4,444, while the runners-up Falcon Six team received a trophy along with ₹2,222 in cash.
Additionally, prizes were distributed for Best Fielder, Best Bowler, Best Wicketkeeper, Man of the Match, and Man of the Series to outstanding players from different teams.
The Night Cricket Premier League was organized with the support of NCC Cricket Association office bearers, including President Gopal Krishna Nayak, Secretary Satya Narayan Panda, Treasurer Babul Pattnaik, and other members of the association.
