Koraput, June 10: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi virtually laid the foundation stones for 12 Godabarish Mishra Model Primary Schools in Koraput district.
The Machkund Government High School in Lamtaput block was selected as the host institution for the two-way expansion programme. Foundation stones for the schools were laid at Jhilliwara, Peta, and Lamtaput in the block. The programme was broadcast online to all 12 schools in the district.
State Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling attended the event and said that under the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister, educational infrastructure in Koraput district is being strengthened.
Among those present were Koraput MLA and District Planning Board Chairman Raghuram Machha, District Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan, Special Development Council Chairman Bhagaban Muduli, Lamtaput Block Chairman Tapas Kumar Chalan, Chikjenput Sarpanch Sunadhar Muduli, and Peta Panchayat Sarpanch Ghenu Kirsani.
Similarly, the schools at B. Janiguda, B. Singpur, and Narigaon in Borigumma block are being transformed into Godabarish Mishra Model Primary Schools.
At B. Janiguda School under Ranaspur Panchayat, Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati attended as chief guest and laid the foundation stone for the model school. Other guests included Zilla Parishad member Nrusinghanath Satpathy, programmer Apita Pradhan, local Sarpanch Tangadhar Nayak, and School Committee President Daniel Kuldeep. Headmaster Jitendra Khara conducted the programme.
The MLA later visited B. Singpur Primary School and laid another foundation stone there. Among those present were Semiliguda BEO Bhaban Pattnaik, Zilla Parishad member Nrusinghanath Satpathy, Sarpanch Rupa Dani, Samiti member Rashmi Amanatya, and School Committee President Tapan Kumar Panda. Headmaster Dinabandhu Mohanty coordinated the event.
Afterwards, the MLA visited Narigaon School and laid the foundation stone for the GMAPRI school building there. Borigumma ABEO Subas Chandra Majhi, Zilla Parishad member Satpathy, local Sarpanch Rebati Pujari, School Committee President Saroj Kumar Dora, Block Chairperson Distimayee Nayak, Block AE Prakash Pradhan, and DPEP Junior Engineer Sushant Sethi were present. Headmaster Balaji Panda conducted the programme.
In Kotpad block, a foundation stone laying ceremony for the Godabarish Mishra Model School was held at Asana Government Upgraded High School under Guwali Panchayat. Kotpad MLA Rup Bhatra attended as chief guest. Other dignitaries included MP representative (Education Department) Chandrasekhar Das, MP representative Rameswar Jena, Additional District Education Officer Chameli Majumdar, NRO Sabita Rani Sadangi, ABEO Padman Randhari, and Guwali Sarpanch Rajmohan Bhandari. The Chief Minister virtually inaugurated the foundation work. CRC coordinators, teachers, students, and parents also attended.
In Dasamantpur block, the foundation stone laying ceremony for the Godabarish Mishra Model Primary School was held at Lula village. The event was coordinated by Headmaster Praveen Kumar Dangari. Zilla Parishad member Dhanapati Saura attended as chief guest and inaugurated the foundation stone.
Other participants included ABEO Sunadhar Sagar, Ishwar Kumar Muduli, social workers Mohan Patra Nial, Trinath Bishoi, Sarpanch Chanchala Muduli, social worker Mohan Chandra Saunla, educationist Kudra Bishoi, School Committee President Uchhala Changri, Arabinda Bishoi, former Sarpanch Gina Jani, Dhanapati Jali, and Shobha Sundar Bishoi. Chalaganga Bishoi conducted the stage proceedings, while CRCC Nikunja Bihari Sahu, Kulamani Jali, and Pramod Kansari extended support during the programme.
