Baipariguda June 10:: World Environment Day was celebrated at Pine Resort in Koraput. On this occasion, environmental enthusiasts and organizations that had carried out plantation drives in various blocks of the district over the past days were honored with the “Prakruti Mitra” and “Prakruti Bandhu” awards.
From Baipariguda block, Mousumi Mohanty was also honored with the “Prakruti Bandhu Award 2026.” She was presented with a certificate of appreciation along with a cash prize.
The program was attended by Koraput District Collector Manoj Satyaban Mahajan, Regional Chief Conservator of Forests, Koraput, Additional Conservator of Forests Jeypore Amit Prakash Nayak, Divisional Forest Officer Jeypore Prashant Patel, Divisional Forest Officer Koraput, the Commandant of the Border Security Force stationed in Koraput, several distinguished personalities from Koraput, Forest Range Officer of Kotpad Manas Ranjan Nayak, and many officials of the Koraput Forest Department along with representatives from various organizations across the district.
