June 10: Actor Bhumi Pednekar has praised Odia cuisine after her recent visit to Rourkela, describing it as one of India’s most “underrated” and thoughtfully prepared food cultures.
Sharing her experience, she said she discovered a wide range of traditional dishes that stood out for their layered flavours and balanced use of ingredients. She particularly highlighted Pakhala Bhata, a fermented rice dish, noting its refreshing taste and natural health benefits.
