Jatni, June 1:3 “Mo Paribar” has always been known for its unique ideas and initiatives. The organization observed World Oceans Day to raise awareness about the importance of protecting oceans, which are the foundation of life for humans and all other living beings on Earth.
Despite their vastness, oceans have not remained free from pollution. Marine pollution not only harms aquatic life but also adversely affects human life. The major causes of ocean pollution include the disposal of plastics, chemical substances, industrial waste, and oil into the sea. Plastic bags, bottles, and other waste discarded by people on beaches eventually reach the ocean, creating floating marine debris.
Speaking at the World Oceans Day celebration held today at the Maa Uttarayani premises, the founder of “Mo Paribar,” journalist Shubhendra Satpathy, emphasized that “Water is life, and survival without water is impossible. Therefore, if humanity wishes to preserve civilization for future generations, it is essential to care for the oceans and keep them free from pollution. Protecting the oceans is the responsibility of all of us.”
Members of “Mo Paribar,” including Mamata Dwibedi, Deepa Nayak, Bharati Singh, and Sipun Paikaray, participated in the program. The information was shared by the founder of the organization, journalist Shubhendra Satpathy.
