Bhubaneswar, June 13: A delegation of the Odisha Non-Gazetted Forest Service Association met with the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), Odisha, Shri K. Murugesan, IFS, and held a fruitful discussion regarding several long-pending and legitimate demands of the Association.
During the meeting, representatives of the Association presented various issues concerning the welfare, service conditions, career advancement, and professional interests of non-gazetted forest personnel working across the state. The delegation highlighted the challenges faced by forest employees in the discharge of their duties and emphasized the need for timely resolution of matters affecting the efficiency and morale of the workforce.
The discussions were conducted in a cordial and constructive atmosphere. The Association placed before the PCCF a number of justified demands related to administrative reforms, employee welfare measures, service benefits, infrastructure support, and other issues concerning the functioning of forest staff at different levels. The representatives also shared their views on strengthening the forest administration and improving the working environment for field-level personnel who play a crucial role in the protection and conservation of forests and wildlife.
Shri K. Murugesan, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, patiently heard the concerns and suggestions put forward by the Association. He assured the delegation that the issues raised would be examined sympathetically and appropriate steps would be taken in accordance with government rules and administrative procedures. The PCCF appreciated the valuable contribution of forest employees in safeguarding Odisha’s rich forest resources and acknowledged their commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable forest management.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides expressing confidence that continued dialogue and cooperation would help address the genuine concerns of forest personnel and further strengthen the functioning of the Forest Department. The Association expressed satisfaction over the successful interaction and hoped for early action on the demands submitted before the state’s highest forest authority.
