New Delhi, June 16: The Government of India has assured that sufficient fertiliser stocks are available across the country to meet the requirements of farmers for the upcoming kharif sowing season.
Officials stated that the current availability of key fertilisers, including urea and complex fertilisers, is adequate to support agricultural operations during the crucial monsoon cropping period. Continuous monitoring of supply chains and distribution networks is being carried out to ensure timely availability at the farm level.
The government highlighted that coordinated efforts with fertiliser manufacturers, importers, and state agencies have helped maintain stable supply levels despite fluctuations in global input markets. Distribution mechanisms have also been strengthened to ensure smooth movement of fertilisers to demand centres.
Authorities emphasised that ensuring uninterrupted access to fertilisers remains a priority to support agricultural productivity and safeguard farmer interests. Regular reviews are being conducted to address regional demand variations and prevent any supply bottlenecks.
The assurance comes ahead of the kharif sowing season, when demand for fertilisers typically rises significantly due to increased agricultural activity during the monsoon period.
The government reiterated its commitment to supporting farmers with timely inputs and maintaining stability in agricultural supply chains.
