Bhubaneswar, June 17 (UDN): Odisha has intensified preparations for the upcoming ‘Subhadra Shakti Samavesh’, a major state-wide initiative aimed at empowering women and strengthening Self-Help Groups (SHGs). To ensure the successful organization of the programme across all districts, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Tuesday conducted a comprehensive virtual review meeting with district-level officials and field functionaries.
During the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the preparedness of districts and emphasized the need for effective coordination to ensure maximum participation of women beneficiaries and SHG members. She directed officials to make all necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of the programme and to create widespread awareness about the opportunities available under various women-centric government initiatives.
Scheduled to be held across Odisha from June 21 to June 30, the ‘Subhadra Shakti Samavesh’ is expected to serve as a platform for showcasing the achievements of women-led Self-Help Groups, promoting entrepreneurship, and enhancing livelihood opportunities. The programme will also facilitate greater access to financial inclusion, skill development, and market linkages for women entrepreneurs.
The initiative reflects the Odisha Government’s commitment to women-led development and inclusive growth. By bringing together SHG members, community leaders, and stakeholders, the event aims to strengthen grassroots economic empowerment and inspire more women to become active participants in the state’s development process.
Officials from all districts have been directed to ensure meticulous planning and execution, making the ‘Subhadra Shakti Samavesh’ a landmark movement for women’s empowerment across Odisha.
