DISHA Meeting Focuses on Comprehensive Review of Ongoing Development Projects to Ensure Timely Execution and Effective Service Delivery

Rayagada, June 18:  : A meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) of Rayagada district was held under the chairmanship of Koraput MP Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka.

During the meeting, concerns were raised over delays in the Thérubali and Gunupur railway line project. The District Collector, Ashutosh Kulkarni, stated that the project may face delays due to issues related to phased land acquisition compensation payments. He also expressed concern that the state government may face difficulties in releasing such a large amount of funds, as around ₹600 crore is required only for compensation in Gunupur town.

The meeting was attended by Rayagada MLA Appalaswamy Kadraka, representatives of Gunupur and Bissam Cuttack MLAs, Zilla Parishad President Saraswati Majhi, Gunupur Municipal Vice-Chairman Shiba Prasad Gaud, Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer Akshaya Kumar Khemuntu, Gunupur Sub-Collector Abhishek Dudal, along with chairpersons of various Panchayat Samitis, municipal representatives, sarpanches, and other district-level officials.

The review also covered the status of the NH-326 Rayagada town and Jeypore bypass projects. Discussions were held on a new bridge over the Nagabali River, constructed at a cost of ₹17.82 crore, and the widening of the Rayagada–Laxmipur road.

Instructions were given to submit updated survey reports and field staff details regarding the geo-network system. Representatives suggested executing various ITDA works through the tender process.

The meeting also reviewed malaria and dengue conditions, the number of referral patients, healthcare infrastructure, and the urgent filling of vacant posts of doctors and ASHA workers.
MP Ulaka directed all departments to expedite development projects, ensure regular monitoring, and prioritize public welfare.
