Odisha CM Holds Talks with Singapore High Commissioner, Pushes for Faster Investment Execution

Bhubaneswar, June 18: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met Simon Wong, High Commissioner of Singapore to India, in Bhubaneswar and discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation and accelerate investment-led projects in Odisha.

The discussions focused on expanding collaboration in key sectors including urban development, green energy, port infrastructure, technology, innovation, and skill development. Both sides reviewed opportunities to strengthen long-term economic and institutional partnerships.

The Chief Minister highlighted Odisha’s vision under ‘Samruddha Odisha 2036’, aligned with the national goal of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’, and described Singapore as a key and natural development partner in the state’s growth journey.

He also called for faster implementation of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed during the visit of Singapore President Dr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam to Odisha, stressing the need to convert agreements into on-ground projects without delay.

Both sides agreed on the importance of creating a structured engagement mechanism to improve coordination, facilitate investment flows, and strengthen institutional cooperation between Odisha and Singapore.

Officials said the meeting reflects Odisha’s continued focus on attracting global investment, enhancing international partnerships, and advancing sustainable development goals.
