The incident comes close on the heels of another major fire mishap in Cuttack’s Press Chhak fish market, where more than 30 shops were destroyed in a pre-dawn blaze. The fire had also affected a nearby bank building, causing widespread concern among local residents and traders.
With two significant fire incidents reported within a short period, concerns have been raised over fire safety measures in commercial establishments across the city.
