Nabarangpur, June 23 {UDN}: A preparatory meeting for the upcoming Table-Top Exercise and Mock Drill was held at the Ashok Mehta Conference Hall under the chairpersonship of District Emergency Officer Shraddhanjali Sahu.
During the meeting, it was informed that a district-level Table-Top Exercise will be conducted in the forenoon of June 18, while block-level exercises will take place in the afternoon. Furthermore, on June 19, mock drills will be organized at all cyclone shelters across the district.
The discussions focused on disaster preparedness and response measures to protect lives and property during floods, cyclones, and other sudden natural calamities. Emphasis was laid on achieving the objective of “Zero Casualty” through continuous preparedness, coordination, and timely action by all concerned agencies.
Various aspects of disaster management, emergency response mechanisms, evacuation procedures, and community awareness were reviewed to ensure that all stakeholders remain alert and ready to respond effectively during emergencies.
Among those present at the meeting were Deputy Collector Pramod Kumar Mohanty, Sub-Divisional Officer Kunal Pattnaik, Tripati Balaji Sahu, Fire Officer Devi Prasad Das, representatives of various voluntary organizations, and functionaries of the Multipurpose Cyclone Shelters. The participants discussed strategies for strengthening disaster preparedness and ensuring the safety of the public during adverse situations.
