Tentulikhunti, June 27 {UDN}: A three-day temple consecration ceremony for Maa Budhi Thakurani was successfully held at Paik Barangopadar village under Paraja Barangopadar Panchayat in Tentulikhunti Block of Nabarangpur district.

The religious celebrations began on June 17 and concluded on June 19, drawing thousands of devotees and creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere across the village and nearby areas.
On the first day, rituals included the tying of the sacred vow thread (Sankalpa Sutra), a Kalash Yatra, and the purification of all temple idols through Vedic chanting. The second day featured an Ashtaprahari Nama Yajna, with devotional singing and prayers.

On the final day, following the completion of the Nama Yajna, a grand Nagar Parikrama (religious procession) was held. The main consecration ceremony included the worship and Prana Pratishtha (installation of the deity) of the sacred idols, performed according to traditional Vedic rituals.

Villagers who had observed religious vows for the occasion completed their rituals by removing the sacred threads and receiving the first glimpse of Maa Budhi Thakurani through the ceremonial mirror inside the temple. Throughout the three-day event, many villagers observed fasting and participated in prayers with great devotion.

The Ashtaprahari Nama Yajna saw participation from nine Sankirtan groups, including teams from Khatiguda Jayaguru Sangha, Barangopadar, and villages such as Talaguda, Palpur Kadamaguda, Baghanaguda, Dhepaguda, Timanpur, Patroput, and Nuagaon in neighbouring areas.

Free Anna Prasada (community feast) was served to devotees, while the entire event was conducted peacefully with the active cooperation of villagers and devotees. The consecration ceremony transformed Barangopadar and surrounding villages into a festive spiritual hub, with continuous chants of “Ram Dhwani” echoing throughout the region. Thousands of devotees gathered to witness the historic temple inauguration, making it a memorable religious occasion for the local community.
