K. Nuagaon, June 27 {UDN}: As the nation observed International Yoga Day, the K. Nuagaon Block Administration in Kandhamal district organized a Yoga Day celebration at the block premises.
The programme was conducted under the leadership of Block Development Officer (BDO) Shubhranjali Pradhan. The event was attended by Block Chairperson Sulochana Dalabehera as the chief guest, along with Zilla Parishad Member Anita Mallik, GPEO Smruti Sagar Pradhan, CP Rakesh Kumar Sahu, Social Welfare Extension Officer Burumajhi Padra, Forest Range Officer Ramakanta Kahanr, Forester Sushanta Kumar Baishakhi, CDPO Sonia Hembram, Head Assistant Ashok Kumar Pattnaik, and several other government officials.
Junior engineers, members of various associations, school students, students and teachers from Omananda Gurukul Ashram, Anganwadi workers, Mission Shakti women, and local residents also participated enthusiastically in the event.
During the programme, a teacher from Omananda Ashram conducted yoga sessions and explained the importance of regular yoga practice. He said that yoga helps keep the body healthy, improves physical and mental well-being, and can help prevent various diseases. He also encouraged everyone to practice yoga daily, emphasizing that it promotes a healthy body, a peaceful mind, and a healthier society.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from people of all age groups, reflecting growing awareness about the importance of yoga in leading a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
