Trailer Accident Blocks Koraput–Rayagada NH-326, Causing Major Traffic Disruption

Rayagada, June 27 (UDN): Traffic movement came to a complete standstill on the Koraput–Rayagada National Highway-326 after an iron-loaded trailer met with an accident at Guma Ghat in Rayagada district, leading to a major blockade and severe disruption of vehicular movement.

The incident occurred around 12:30 AM when the trailer reportedly became stranded on the highway, obstructing the key route connecting Koraput and Rayagada. Following the accident, traffic flow was halted, resulting in a long queue of stranded vehicles, including buses, trucks, and private vehicles on both sides of the highway.

Commuters and transport operators faced significant inconvenience as several passengers were forced to remain stranded overnight in the ghat section. The disruption also impacted freight movement, causing delays in transport services and supply chains in the region.

As of the morning hours, the blocked stretch had not yet been cleared, with commuters reporting delays in the arrival of authorities to manage the situation and restore traffic. The continued blockade has raised concerns among travelers and transporters, who have urged swift action to remove the damaged vehicle and reopen the highway.

Efforts are expected to focus on clearing the obstruction and restoring normal traffic movement on NH-326 at the earliest to ease the growing congestion and public inconvenience.
