Swati Conducts Mental Health Awareness Programme in Kandhamal, Focusing on Early Intervention and Public Awareness

Phulbani, June 29 {UDN}:: Leading voluntary organisation Swati organised a mental health awareness camp in Kandhamal district on Monday to promote awareness about mental well-being and encourage community support for people living with mental illnesses.

Speakers at the programme stressed the need for collective efforts to identify individuals suffering from mental health disorders, provide them with proper care and treatment, and help them reintegrate into the mainstream of society.

The programme was organised by Swati with support from BasicNeeds India. The chief guest, G. Udayagiri MLA Prafulla Kumar Pradhan, appreciated Swati’s dedicated efforts in identifying mental health patients and providing them with selfless, compassionate, and committed care. He also praised Swati’s founder, Er. Harishankar Rout, and Secretary Er. Rout for their continued service in this field.

The MLA noted that for the past 28 years, the organisation has been working successfully for the social, cultural, educational, and economic development of poor and underprivileged people both within and outside Kandhamal district.

On the occasion, several ASHA workers were felicitated for their outstanding contribution to community healthcare and mental health awareness.
All staff members of the Swati organisation actively assisted in the successful conduct of the programme.
