Bhubaneswar, July 1 (UDN): NSeveral parts of Odisha witnessed heavy to very heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours, according to data released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bhubaneswar.
The highest rainfall was recorded in Boudh district, where Boudhgarh station received 168.0 mm, followed by Lamataput in Koraput (151.2 mm), Birmaharajpur in Sonepur (137.0 mm), and Kantamala in Boudh (122.0 mm).
The IMD reported that four stations recorded very heavy rainfall, while 22 stations experienced heavy rainfall across the state. Significant rainfall was also reported from Banki in Cuttack (104 mm), Athamalik in Angul (101 mm), and Barpali in Bargarh (100 mm), among other locations.
While the rainfall is expected to benefit agricultural activities across Odisha, it may also lead to temporary waterlogging in low-lying and urban areas. Authorities have advised residents in vulnerable regions to remain cautious and alert.
The IMD has indicated that rainfall activity is likely to continue over the next few days, and further updates will be issued as the weather system evolves.
