Major Arms and Explosives Haul Recovered in Odisha’s Koraput

July 3 (UDN): Security forces have recovered a cache of firearms, explosives, and ammunition from a Maoist hideout in the Tentuligumma forest under the Boipariguda police limits in Odisha’s Koraput district during a search operation.

The seizure included firearms, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), bombs, and other ammunition believed to have been stored by Maoist cadres. The operation was carried out as part of ongoing efforts to curb extremist activities and strengthen security in the region.

Officials said the recovery is expected to weaken the operational capabilities of Maoist groups in the area. Investigative agencies are also examining the group’s logistics, financial channels, and supply networks to identify those involved in providing material and operational support.

Security operations have been intensified across Maoist-affected areas of Odisha, with authorities continuing coordinated search and surveillance efforts to prevent extremist activities and enhance public safety.
