The agreements were signed between the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment and the Odisha Agro-Industrial Corporation (OAIC), Odisha Agriculture Promotion and Capital Investment Corporation Limited (APICOL), Odisha State Seeds Corporation Limited (OSSC), and Odisha State Cashew Development Corporation Limited (OSCDCL).
Under the MoUs, the four corporations have been assigned targets to improve the availability of agricultural inputs, expand farm mechanisation, support irrigation infrastructure, promote agri-based enterprises, strengthen seed production, and enhance cashew cultivation. The initiatives also include support for cold storage infrastructure, climate-resilient seed varieties, and farmer capacity-building programmes.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo urged the corporations to work in close coordination with the department to accelerate agricultural growth, improve service delivery, and increase farmers’ incomes. He also emphasized the adoption of advanced technologies, stronger marketing initiatives, and climate-resilient farming practices.
The state government said the agreements are aimed at strengthening institutional coordination, ensuring timely access to quality agricultural inputs, encouraging investment in the agriculture sector, and supporting sustainable agricultural development across Odisha.
