Bhubaneswar, July 4 {UDN}: The state government is actively promoting the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs in Odisha. With the aim of ensuring that more people are able to purchase EVs and receive subsidies, and to further strengthen the supporting infrastructure, the Commerce and Transport Department has extended the validity of the Odisha Electric Vehicle Policy-2021 until September 30.
The government had earlier prepared a draft version of the Odisha EV Policy-2025, but since it has not yet been implemented, the authorities have decided to extend the existing policy period.
This extension is expected to benefit EV buyers by continuing subsidy support and encouraging the expansion of charging infrastructure across the state, thereby promoting cleaner and more sustainable transportation in Odisha.
