Under the Odisha Deep Sea Fishing Mission, Fishermen Will Now Be Able to Fish Up to 370 Kilometres Offshore, Compared to the Earlier Limit of Just 23 Kilometres.

Bhubaneswar, July 9 [UDN}:  Today marks the launch of the Odisha Deep Sea Fishing Mission, enabling fishermen to venture much farther into the sea for fishing activities. Under this initiative, fishermen will now be able to fish up to 370 kilometres offshore instead of the previous limit of 23 kilometres.
The mission is expected to boost marine fish production and improve the income of fishing communities across the state.
Modern fishing equipment and deep-sea fishing vessels will be provided to eligible beneficiaries.
The initiative aims to create new employment opportunities in the fisheries sector.
It will also strengthen Odisha’s position as a leading marine fisheries state in India.
