Bhawanipatna,July 9 [UDN}:On the occasion of the observance of Van Mahotsav Week, the Kalahandi District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) organised a tree plantation programme at the premises of Hi-Tech Public School, Duarsuni under Bhawanipatna.
The programme was conducted under the supervision of the In-Charge Chairman of the Kalahandi District Legal Services Authority and Additional District Judge (POCSO), Rajib Lochan Sahu. During the event, saplings of various species were planted with the objective of promoting environmental conservation and spreading awareness about the importance of greenery.
Among those present were Additional District Judge and Special Judge (Vigilance) Badrinarayan Nanda, Family Court Judge Rajashree Mahapatra, Senior Civil Judge Sudipra Dehuri, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority Snigdha Panda, Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate Anuradha Sharma, Judicial Magistrates First Class Pujapriyadarshini Pati and Archana Mallik, District Physical Education Officer Rupsingh Raut, along with the Principal and staff members of Hi-Tech Public School.
Officials and staff of the Forest Department, police personnel from Bhawanipatna Sadar Police Station, employees of the Legal Aid Defence Counsel office, staff members of the District Legal Services Authority and Para Legal Volunteers also actively participated in the plantation drive.
The initiative highlighted the importance of environmental protection and encouraged collective responsibility towards preserving nature for future generations. Such programmes not only enhance green cover but also inspire citizens to contribute towards a cleaner and healthier environment.
