Koraput:July 9 [UDN}: The 20th National Statistics Day was observed at the Sadbhavana Hall in Koraput under the aegis of the District Planning and Monitoring Office. The event was presided over by Deputy Director of Planning and Statistics, Suryakanta Behera.
The theme for this year’s celebration, “Unlocking the Potential of Administrative Data,” was discussed in detail, emphasizing the importance of administrative data in evidence-based policymaking, effective governance, and sustainable development. Speakers highlighted how accurate and timely data can strengthen planning, improve public service delivery, and support informed decision-making.
Officials, government employees, and stakeholders participated in the programme and reiterated the need to promote data-driven governance for the overall development of the district and the state. The event also underscored the vital role of statistics in shaping transparent, efficient, and citizen-centric administration.
