Puri, July 10 (UDN): The Puri Srimandir Administration has raised objections to the proposed off-season Rath Yatra event in Rajasthan and has urged the local district administration to stop the programme.
The temple administration stated that the annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath is a deeply revered tradition linked to the prescribed rituals and religious calendar of the Puri Srimandir. Officials expressed concern that conducting such an event outside the traditional schedule could affect the sanctity and significance associated with the centuries-old festival.
Puri Collector and Deputy Chief Administrator of the Srimandir Administration, Dibyajyoti Parida, appealed to the Rajasthan authorities to take necessary steps regarding the proposed event.
The administration reiterated its commitment to protecting the traditions, customs, and religious practices associated with the Lord Jagannath culture while respecting the sentiments of devotees.
