Puri, July 10 (UDN): The annual sacred healing rituals of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra are continuing at the Jagannath Temple in Puri, with the traditional Chaka Bije ritual being observed ahead of the offering of Dashamula Modaka on Ekadashi.

As part of the Anavasara period following the Snana Yatra, the deities undergo a customary period of rest and recovery. During this time, special rituals are performed by temple servitors in accordance with centuries-old traditions.
The Chaka Bije ritual, scheduled on Anabasara Dashami, marks a significant stage in the healing process of the deities. On the following day, the sacred Ayurvedic preparation Dashamula Modaka will be offered, which is traditionally believed to help restore the health and strength of Lord Jagannath and His siblings.
The rituals hold deep religious importance for devotees and are an integral part of the annual traditions of the 12th-century Jagannath Temple in Puri.
Temple authorities and servitors are carrying out the rituals with due adherence to established customs, ensuring the continuation of the rich spiritual heritage associated with Lord Jagannath.
