Daspalla, July 14 [UDN}:: A preparatory meeting for the orderly conduct of the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, who is worshipped in Daspalla as “Patitapabana,” was held on Wednesday afternoon at the Panchayat Samiti Conference Hall.
The meeting was attended by MLA Ramesh Chandra Behera, NAC Chairperson Er. Poonam Priyadarshini, Tahasildar Smruti Ranjan Satapathy, BDO Sarat Chandra Mallik, Traders’ Association President Alekh Sahu, educationist Hadibandhu Mahakhud, Bibhudatta Mahapatra, Rashmi Ranjan Pattnaik, Prafulla Mishra, Bar Association President Sushanta Kumar Patra, BJP leader Kishore Dal Behera, Press Club President Suresh Chandra Behera, IIC Binaya Ranjan Parida, and Endowment Inspector Sukanta Mishra, among others.
After detailed discussions, it was decided that the Rath Yatra would commence at 4:00 PM on July 16. From July 16 to July 23, one incarnation from the Dashavatara (Ten Incarnations of Lord Vishnu) will be adorned each evening.
The schedule of rituals was also finalized as follows:
– July 23: Navami Alati
– July 24: Bahuda Yatra (Return Car Festival)
– July 25: Suna Besha (Golden Attire Ceremony)
– July 26: Adhara Pana ritual
– July 27: Niladri Bije ceremony
MLA Shri Behera requested all departments to carry out their respective responsibilities efficiently and ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the festival
