July 15 (UDN): The holy city of Puri is witnessing a surge of devotion and festive spirit as preparations continue for the much-awaited Rath Yatra 2026. The Shree Jagannath Temple has entered the final phase of rituals before the grand chariot festival, with devotees gathering in large numbers to participate in the celebrations.

After the completion of Nabajaubana Darshan, the Ubha Yatra ritual is being conducted as part of the traditional ceremonies leading up to the Rath Yatra. The rituals hold great religious importance and mark the return of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra to public view after the Anasara period.

The three majestic chariots of the deities have been positioned at Ratha Khala, where final preparations are underway for the ceremonial procession. Temple authorities and local administration have put in place arrangements to manage the expected crowd and ensure the smooth conduct of the festival.

Rath Yatra is one of Odisha’s most celebrated religious events, drawing lakhs of devotees from different parts of India and abroad. The annual festival represents the symbolic journey of the deities to the Gundicha Temple and showcases the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of the region.
