Koraput , July 17 [UDN}: Under the supervision of Koraput District Collector Shri Manoj Satyawan Mahajan, a special camp was organized on 14 July 2026 at the Mission Shakti Bhavan premises in Kotpad Block as part of the second phase of the initiative for the identification and appropriate rehabilitation of orphaned children and children living with a single parent.
During the camp, a total of 403 children in need of care and protection were presented before the District Child Welfare Committee (CWC). After the completion of the inquiry and verification process by the Child Welfare Committee, these children will be brought under various welfare schemes of the Government and integrated into the mainstream of society to ensure their overall development and well-being.
The camp was jointly organized by the Koraput District Women and Child Development Department, the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Koraput, and ICDS, Kotpad.
Chairperson of the District Child Welfare Committee, Dr. Gayatri Devi, along with members Shri Surendra Karan and Shri Suresh Kumar Hota, remained present and supervised the presentation and verification of the children.
Officials of the District Child Protection Unit, representatives of the Child Helpline, and Anganwadi workers extended their support in the successful conduct and management of the programme.
