Bhubaneswar, July 17 (UDN): Odisha is witnessing continued rainfall activity as a low-pressure system over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas triggers widespread showers across several parts of the state.
The weather system has led to heavy rainfall in multiple districts, prompting authorities to issue an orange alert in areas expected to receive intense showers. Residents have been advised to stay cautious and remain updated with official weather advisories.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast further rainfall in the coming hours, with some regions likely to experience heavy to very heavy showers. Local administrations are closely monitoring the situation and taking precautionary steps to address possible disruptions caused by the weather.
Authorities have urged people to avoid unnecessary movement during periods of intense rainfall, stay away from waterlogged areas and follow safety guidelines issued by officials.
The state government continues to review the situation, with teams prepared to respond to any rainfall-related challenges, including waterlogging, disruptions to transport and impacts on local communities.
