Kotpad, July 18 [UDN}: The Kotpad Notified Area Council (NAC) has installed a total of 32 high-mast LED lights at various road junctions and key public places across the town to improve street lighting and public safety.
On the occasion of the Rath Yatra, three of these high-mast lights were inaugurated at Mausi Maa Temple on Bada Danda, Hanuman Temple premises, and Maa Mauli Temple premises. The inauguration was carried out by Kotpad NAC Chairperson M. Shankar Rao and Tahasildar Parshu Ram Bhatra.
The event was attended by MP representative Pradeep Rath, MLA representative Suren Mohanty, Executive Officer Narayan Nayak, ward members, Junior Engineer Punam Huji, Assistant Engineer Gaurav, Bikash Pattnaik, Binod Sasmal, and several political representatives and officials.
Following traditional rituals and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, the newly installed high-mast lights were formally dedicated to the public. The initiative is expected to enhance illumination, improve safety, and beautify the Bada Danda and surrounding areas of Kotpad.
Residents appreciated the development and praised MLA Rupu Bhatra, NAC Chairperson M. Shankar Rao, and the district administration for taking steps to strengthen urban infrastructure and improve public amenities.
