Odisha Among India’s Most Investor-Friendly States: NITI Aayog Report

Bhubaneswar, July 18 (UDN): Odisha has emerged as one of India’s leading investor-friendly states, securing a place in the highest-performing category of the first Investment Friendliness Index released by NITI Aayog.

The state has been recognised alongside Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Goa for its improving business environment, strong infrastructure, policy support, and growing appeal as an investment destination.

The index evaluates states and Union Territories on key factors including infrastructure development, regulatory ease, government policies, institutional framework, financial health, resource availability, and environmental sustainability.

NITI Aayog said the ranking aims to encourage states to adopt best practices, improve governance, and create a favourable ecosystem for investors.

Odisha’s performance highlights the state’s continued efforts to strengthen industrial growth, attract investments, and build a competitive business environment. The recognition is expected to further boost investor confidence and support the state’s economic development goals.
